James writes, “But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does” (Jas. 1:25). Does this mean that we are under law or not?

Can God Use Rock Music?
Introduction
This is a hard article for me to write, mainly because I’m afraid people will think that my opinions would have to be prejudiced by the fact that I am involved in (what has come to be known as) “contemporary Christian music.” As you might guess, the title of this article is no new question to me. Since I myself have been somewhat “guilty” of using the medium of rock, I have heard just about every opinion about it – and have received no limit of warning, exhortation, and outright rebuke from many a well-meaning soul. Since I take my negative mail very seriously – always reading each negative and corrective letter as a possible word or warning from God – I have had to listen closely to each argument – praying and thinking the whole thing through with eternal values in mind.

The Apostle Paul’s words in Romans 9 reveal one of the most emotionally charged moments in all of Scripture. Speaking from the depths of his heart, Paul confesses his grief over those closest to him: his fellow Israelites, his family, and his friends, who have rejected Christ. “I speak the truth in Christ; I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit; I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race” (Romans 9:1-3, NIV).

Having found Jesus is a beautiful thing.Your life seems to have meaning. You’ve seem to have found something that brings you great joy and happiness. Your loneliness and emptiness have disappeared. Praise the Lord.
