Sound doctrine always leads to love, but how does it lead to love for false prophets who make their way into the church? Paul is clear with Timothy, the correction given to these false men is how to truly love them.

Jesus here continues pointing out the fruits of the false religious leaders in His day, but these leaders are still around today. The church must heed the words of our Lord, and be ready to discern the false teachers through the fruits of their lives.

Paul has been discussing false prophets with Timothy, but now he turns to the subject of grace. God's grace is something Paul cannot resist in so many of his letters, as he delights to share the truth of God's wonderful grace in saving sinners through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

After dealing with the false religious leaders in the temple, Jesus now turns to the crowds and His disciples to warn them about these very men. False prophets continue today, and the same fruits they did in Jesus' day, are on display today as well.

Jesus faces the final test the religious leaders will give to Him, and as with all the other tests, Jesus once again demonstrates His great wisdom and authority.

Revival is something that any Christian would love to see, however, in our zeal for revival, we must understand that we have no ability to manufacture revival. Rather, the church has a role that God calls her to play, and Psalm 126 teaches that to us.

In the past six years or so, the relationship between government and the Christian has seemed to become a bit more complex. Many questions have arisen with the government calling upon churches to close during COVID, or to require masks. What must matter supremely to the Christian, is what the Scripture has to say on these matters. Jesus gives great clarity in this wonderful text from the gospel of Matthew.

Many are called, but few are chosen...this is the summary Jesus gives of this amazing parable. What does that mean, and how can we know if we are among the chosen?
