God delegates human leadership for His church, and Paul is making clear to Timothy what kind of men God qualifies for His church. In this verse, we find the kind of man who should be considered for this role in the church.

Jesus tells His disciples that they must be readers who understand, as He refers back to the prophet Daniel. In order to understand the Olivet Discourse in its fullness, Daniel is a key. So we begin studying Daniel a little bit this Sunday, in Daniel 7, and see the glory of God in how He ordains all things in history for His purposes.

Paul here gives the reasons women must be restricted from preaching and teaching in churches. A very unpopular, but needful, message for our time.

We are promised difficulty and tribulation as Christians, but why? If God is sovereign, can He not make our lives easier? The Bible has the answer.

The disciples ask Jesus about the future and when things are going to take place, but Jesus does not answer immediately about when, but rather how...how they are to live. Here He gives two commands about how they are to be prepared to live as they await the timing of the end.

Christians look at the world today and see the foundations of morality, foundations of the country, foundations of even the church being destroyed, and we wonder, what are we to do about it? Popular men are promoting answers such as taking back the country, running for office and claiming political power, believing that Christian nationalism is the call of the day. But David gave a very different answer to the question than many would give today, and that answer has not changed.
