Longing For Truth

Welcome to Bizarro Christianity, where the things being said and done in the name of Jesus just keep getting stranger! In this episode, we take you on another trip through some of the most outrageous and downright ridiculous things happening in the church today. From unbelievable statements by popular pastors to teachings that completely contradict Scripture, you'll find yourself wondering, "Is this really Christianity?" Some of it is laughable, some of it is disturbing, but all of it reminds us why biblical discernment is so important.

Carl Lentz is back in the spotlight, and Mike Todd is helping make it happen! But should a pastor who has fallen into serious moral failure ever return to the pulpit? In this episode, we'll examine Lentz's controversial statements about pastoral disqualification, Mike Todd's prophecy over his future, and what Scripture actually says about the qualifications for pastoral ministry.

Has Christianity officially entered the Twilight Zone? Just when you think you've heard it all, something comes along that leaves you shaking your head in disbelief! Join us as we take a look at some of the recent bizarre claims coming out of charismatic Christianity. We'll have some laughs along the way, but behind the absurdity lies a serious problem: what happens when personal experiences, visions, and supposed revelations take precedence over the clear teaching of God's Word? What happens when a pastor compares himself to Kurt Cobain, the hobbits from The Lord of the Rings, and points to biblical figures like Moses and Paul when discussing his fame? In this video, we examine a pastor's obsession with his own influence, his constant self-promotion, and the dangerous theology he's spreading to millions of people. In this episode, I’m joined by Menno Zweers, founder of NAR Connections and author of What Is Truth?, to examine how the New Apostolic Reformation undermines biblical truth through private interpretation, claimed revelation, and Scripture taken out of context. We look at real examples from prominent teachers and discuss why we must return to Scripture as the final authority for what we believe and teach. Queen Okeoma claims to have visited hell eight times, but what she teaches about salvation is even more troubling. From Christians going to hell over a single unconfessed sin to scribe angels recording our every move, Queen's teachings raise serious biblical concerns. Join Daniel and Robin as they examine her extraordinary claims, expose the dangers of her works-based gospel, and point believers back to the assurance of salvation found in Jesus Christ alone. Queen Okeoma claims she’s been to hell eight times—and Otha Turnbough apparently believes her. What does the Bible actually teach about spiritual “mantles”? In this episode, we examine the growing Charismatic teaching about receiving, transferring, and inheriting mantles—and the books, courses, and ministries making money from it. Jenny Weaver has publicly warned people about Kathryn Krick—but just how different are their ministries? In this episode, I’m joined by Dawn Hill of The Lovesick Scribe to compare Weaver and Krick side by side, examining their claims to apostolic authority, criticisms of the local church, emphasis on deliverance and supernatural experiences, spiritual hierarchy, and the elevation of ministry leaders. Dawn brings a unique perspective as a former member of Ryan LeStrange’s organization who has personally encountered Jenny Weaver. Kathryn Krick may be the name getting the headlines right now, but the similarities uncovered in this conversation raise some serious questions about Jenny Weaver and the Core Group as well. In this episode, Daniel Long and Steve Kozar take a serious look at Kathryn Krick and 5F Church, examining the teachings, practices, leadership structure, and troubling reports surrounding the ministry. They also discuss the assessment of recognized cult expert and expert witness Rick Alan Ross, who concluded that 5F Church fits the characteristics of a destructive personality cult. This isn't simply the opinion of two YouTubers—we examine the evidence and ask whether what is being presented as a powerful “move of God” is actually something very different. Where did Kenneth Copeland get the idea that God is 6'2" and weighs a couple hundred pounds? Why did Benny Hinn teach that there are nine persons in the Trinity? It all traces back to one man — and a study Bible still sitting on bookshelves in millions of Christian homes. I'm joined by Chuck Lewis from Sheep Among Wolves and Steve Johnson, author of Deconstructing Kenneth Hagin, to look at who this man was, what he taught, and why so many Word of Faith teachers still endorse his Bible today. Kathryn Krick and her self-proclaimed "spiritual father," Tanzanian prophet GeorDavie, tell packed crowds that the anointing is a free gift — "freely you have received, freely give." But watch closely, because what happens right after that promise reveals exactly what this ministry is really built on. In this video, we examine the footage for ourselves and hold it up against Scripture, including a sin the Bible condemns by name. If you or someone you love has been drawn into this movement, you'll want to see this all the way through. For over two decades, John Samson preached Word of Faith. He hosted a TBN program in Arizona, shared his pulpit with Andrew Wommack, and rubbed elbows with the movement's biggest names. Then he started doing the funerals of people he had declared healed. In this conversation, John tells the story of how one weekend with R.C. Sproul unraveled everything he believed, why "positive confession" and seed-faith collapsed under the weight of Scripture, and what finally led him out of the movement and into the pulpit of a Reformed Baptist church. If you or someone you love is caught up in Word of Faith teaching, this testimony is for you. When the Southern Baptist Convention voted this week to affirm that the office of pastor is reserved for qualified men, social media erupted—so we sat down to work through the most common arguments people are making for women pastors and weigh each one against Scripture. Jennifer LeClaire says you can test any prophetic word in seconds — no Scripture required, no spiritual maturity needed! But when we open the Bible and examine her test, things fall apart fast.
