I am taking an online class at DTS (Dallas Theological Seminary) on the book Of Revelation and I want to share this with everyone. In chapter 1 of revelation verse 4-5, I can see the trinity laid out in these verse.
(Please see the photo parallel of KJV and NASB 1995 at the bottom of this post)
In verse vs 4 you read the words “from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; “ most people think this is talking about Jesus, and we continue with verse 4 “and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;” This is talking about the the Holy Spirit in Isiah 11:2 we read “2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;”
(see ref “Titles and Names of the Holy Spirit: Seven Spirits of God” from bible hub.com)
now to verse 5 of revelation 1 -”And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.”, Notice the word and it connects these 2 verses. I believe that the part in verse 4 is talking about God the Father. Look at revelation chapter 20-22 and you will see God The Father dwelling with man on the new earth.
When I saw I wow, God will dwell(in full) with his people, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This why he tells us many times in the be to be Holy!!!
