I realize that many of you will either agree or not agree with my opening statement I can tell you first hand that all of the thousands of people that I have talked to since I have been saved that I have met many, that do not believe this statement.
Even when I show them this passage they still insist that all religion is good, as long as you love people and are a good person it does not matter. To this my response: was look at the passage notice! It does not say that Jesus is one of the roads of many religions, on the contrary it says he is the only road or the only way to the Father.
Listen! Folks not because I say so, but because Jesus said so! Clearly Jesus said John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. All three of these things are singular do you see that? The passage is not talking about plural ways to God the Father known as all religions lead to heaven.but rather only one way to God the Father, and that is by coming out of religion putting your faith and trust in Christ alone!
The world is right! When it says all religions will go to heaven but when you get their you soon realize your darkest spiritual nightmare becomes a reality, when you hear Jesus say DEPART FROM ME!
Mat. 7:21-23“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
It will be a terrible experience as millions will hear the most terrifying words ever recorded in the Word of God DEPART FROM ME! Millions of God fearing religious people who thought that they could work for their salvation or merit their salvation by doing good deeds will hear Jesus say I never knew you.
These religious folks will discover at this time that they were cloth with their own righteousness instead of the righteousness of Christ how sad this day will be for many who claim they are a Christian.
Yes! its true we have smart phones, smart Cars, and smart TV but when it comes to salvation being a gift and Jesus being the only way to heaven people simply are not smart, and neither were the popes of the Catholic religion
Listen I know some of you Catholics will see and be set free and others regardless of how much evidence is given will reject it. I know many of you will stay in the Catholic religion because you were raise in it or because you have love ones that have died in it, in either case when I share the gospel with many of these Catholic folks it was rejected on these grounds.
Don’t let this happen to you my Catholic friend.
Matthew 10:37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Matthew 10:38
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
As you look at these two scriptures here you find people who wanted to follow Jesus. Jesus knew how important the temple was to these Jewish people, and how very important their religion was to these people, their whole life revolved around it, think about it as you are reading this its 1900 years ago the Temple was still up and running at this time.
Like I said many of these people wanted to follow Jesus so he drops a spiritual bomb shell on them and says if you love your father, mother, son, or daughter you are not worthy of me. In this passage Jesus is saying to the people of his time if you want to follow me it is going to cost you something.
It can cost you your relationships with your love ones Not only that but it also will cost you to let go of your religion that you love and were raise in by your parents, that is why Jesus says you are not worthy of me.
Simply put many of these people who heard Jesus refuse to let go of their religion to follow Jesus they were not willing to put their trust and faith in him alone.
Instead they held on to and trusted in the religion of their time and the religion of their parents.
In like manor today as you read this passage now 1900 years later how many of you are into some religion and your response is the same I am in this religion because I was raise in it and if its good enough for my parents its good enough for me.
This is the response of thousands of Catholics that I have talked to when I share the gospel of Christ with them.
They tell me they understand but no thank you I am a catholic. Many of these Catholic people stay in their religion for the same reason that many of the Jewish people did. Because of their trust in their parents, and because of their trust in their religion to be true.
Today while millions of Catholics who profess that they trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross with their mouth prove with their hearts that their salvation is not a gift, but rather is work for.
Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Catholics are like this man who profess Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. The unbelief of the Catholic person is that they lack faith and trust that Christ did all the work on the cross for their salvation.
John 19:30. Don’t believe me ask any Catholic can you get to heaven without the priest? Or can you get to heaven without mother Mary? and if they tell you no! Then they are not saved! If the Catholic person’s faith and trust in Christ alone! Was real and true their would be no need for purgatory, for mass, or for the priest, since these things stand in disagreement to the work of Christ on the cross.
Listen folks, as a Catholic you have to make up your mind either Jesus did it all or he did not do it all.
If you believe Jesus did it all for you on the cross! it can cost you your relationship with your love ones, it can cost you your friends, it can cost you to let go of your religion, there is a price to follow Jesus the only question remains is that are you willing to count the cost to follow Jesus.
If that is your desire here is a prayer of you putting your faith and trust in Christ alone! Please, do not pray this prayer unless you mean it in your heart!
Heavenly Father I confess I’m a sinner and need forgiven of all of my sins (Romans 6:23). I believe that Jesus took my place on that cross and paid my sin debt, I deserved hell because of my sin. But Jesus because he love me so much (John 3:16) he took the wrath of God for me he died in my place on that cross. he had no sin live a perfect holy life and died for me. I believe that Jesus shed his blood and his blood cleanses me of all of my sins (Ephesians 1:7) I believe that Jesus died and rose again from the dead. Lord I repent of trusting in my religion to get me to heaven, I repent of earning salvation by being a good person, I repent of earning salvation by helping others, I repent of earning salvation by giving to the poor. (Ephesians 2:8) Lord, I repent of earning salvation by trusting in my water baptism, Lord, I repent of earning salvation by trusting in the sacraments. Lord I repent of saying the rosary, I repent of earning salvation by keeping the 10 commandments, ( Eph 2:9) I ask Lord, that you forgive me for not trusting in your work on the cross alone! for my salvation. (John 19:30) come into my heart Jesus and from this day forward help me Jesus to trust in you alone for my salvation. Thank you Jesus! For the gift of eternal life 1 John 5:13 . Thank you Jesus For writing my name down in the book of life Revelation 20:15
