Mystery Babylon

The Bible does not leave Mystery Babylon to speculation or modern opinion.

God Himself defines her, describes her, and locates her in Scripture.

When Revelation is read carefully, Mystery Babylon is revealed not as a modern nation, but as a corrupt religious power with global influence—one that mixes spiritual authority with political power and worldly wealth.

This is not about nationalism.

This is about apostasy, spiritual deception, and false worship.
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins…”
— Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

A WOMAN — NOT A POLITICAL STATE
Revelation explicitly identifies Babylon as a woman, using prophetic imagery common throughout Scripture.

Revelation 17:3
“I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast…”

In the Bible, a woman often represents a religious or spiritual identity, not a modern nation-state. This woman is not a bride—but a harlot, showing corruption rather than covenant.
A CITY — WITH HISTORICAL MARKERS

Scripture does not leave her location vague.
Revelation 17:18-19
“The woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”

A city known for seven mountains and religious authority over kings fits the biblical description far more than any modern political nation.

A CORRUPT RELIGIOUS SYSTEM

Mystery Babylon’s sin is not military conquest—but spiritual fornication.
Revelation 17:2
“With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication…”
In prophetic language, fornication refers to spiritual unfaithfulness—
mixing truth with error, worship with power, and religion with worldly control.

Revelation 18:3
“All nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication…”
This is global religious influence, not national borders.

RIGHTLY DIVIDED TRUTHS

Babylon is judged during the Tribulation, after the Church Age
Revelation 18

The Church is not appointed to wrath
1 Thessalonians 5:9

Babylon represents false religion, not true faith in Christ
Revelation 17:5

God still calls people to come out and choose truth
Revelation 18:4

A SOBERING WARNING
Religious systems cannot save.
Tradition cannot save.
Church membership cannot save.
Only Jesus Christ saves.

THE GOSPEL TO THE LOST (VERY IMPORTANT)
No matter how dark deception becomes, God’s message of salvation is still simple and clear:
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried,
And that he rose again the third day…”
Salvation is not found in religion, but in believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross.
When you get saved, you receive eternal life, forgiveness, and peace with God—right now.

CLOSING THOUGHT

Mystery Babylon deceives the world through religion.
Jesus Christ saves the world through grace.
Choose truth.
Choose Christ.
While there is still time.
