Can you believe it?!
I can certainly understand why neo-pagan liberals like Al Gore believe, despite overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary, man-made, catastrophic global warming is the gravest threat to the planet.
What I can’t understand is why people who claim to believe in the Bible as the inerrant, inspired Word of God do so too! Even more difficult to comprehend is why some evangelical Christians are caught up in the notion that government and international action are the proper methods to fight this phantom threat.

There are many who are using the Global Warming issue (and other Environmentalism issues) to try and destroy Capitalism and bring the world under a one world dictator that will control all the world’s citizens to follow a humanistic belief system (leading to the AntiChrist)!
Global Warming alarmists still predict the Earth is in store for catastrophic warming in this century.
IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) computer models have predicted global warming of 1° F per decade and 5-6° C (10-11° F) by 2100 (Fig. 1), which would cause global catastrophe with ramifications for human life, natural habitat, energy and water resources, and food production. All of this is predicated on the assumption that global warming is caused by increasing atmospheric CO2 and that CO2 will continue to rise rapidly.
However, records of past climate changes suggest an altogether different scenario for the 21st century. Rather than drastic global warming at a rate of 0.5 ° C (1° F) per decade, historic records of past natural cycles suggest global cooling for the first several decades of the 21st century to about 2030, followed by global warming from about 2030 to about 2060, and renewed global cooling from 2060 to 2090. Climatic fluctuations over the past several hundred years suggest ~30 year climatic cycles of global warming and cooling. (Don J. How did ‘Greenland’ get its name? It’s due to Global Warming. Larger quantities of CO2 in the atmosphere and warmer climates leads to an increase in vegetation. During warm periods in history vegetation flourished, at one point allowing the Vikings to farm in now frozen Greenland.
Here is a summary of the Global Warming cult following’s tenants of their religious belief system:
1. The world has been warming for a century, and this warming is beyond any cyclical variation we have seen over the last 1000 or more years, and beyond the range of what we might expect from natural climate variations.
2. Almost all of the warming in the second half of the 20th century, perhaps a half a degree Celsius, is due to man-made greenhouse gasses, particularly CO2.
3. In the next 100 years, CO2 produced by man will cause a lot more warming, from as low as three degrees C to as high as 8 or 10 degrees C.
4. Positive feedbacks in the climate, like increased humidity, will act to triple the warming from CO2, leading to these higher forecasts and perhaps even a tipping point into climactic disaster.
5. The bad effects of warming greatly outweigh the positive effects, and we are already seeing the front end of these bad effects today (polar bears dying, glaciers melting, etc).
6. These bad effects, or even a small risk of them, easily justify massive intervention today in reducing economic activity and greenhouse gas production.
Did you know that in Britian, and other European countries, the government has decided to tax farmers who raise certain types of animals (i.e. cows) due to the animals’ flatulance production, which is said to leave a large ‘carbon footprint’?!

Over the past 2000 years, the Bible has predicted that there would be some gloomy, awful tribulations on this earth. It wouldn’t surprise me if global temperatures did actually rise substantially. But, it wouldn’t be because of oil emissions; it would be because of God’s judgement on a sin-sick world!
We know from laboratory work that CO2, and more importantly water vapor, in the atmosphere serves to keep the Earth warmer than it would be in their absence. The big question is have rising CO2 levels over the last century (caused in part by man’s combustion of fossil fuels) caused some or all of the 20th century warming. The alarmist environmentalist wackos believe wholeheartedly that this CO2 phenomenom is ‘the’ cause for the warming temperatures….and it is all man’s fault!
CO2 vs. Solar Irradiance
Which is most likely to be causing increases in global temperatures? The Sun, or CO2 gas?…
Logical thinking test:
If you walked into a room and found that it was too hot, would you, as a first step:
a) Measure the air to find anomalies in the mix of gasses
b) Count the number of people in the room, to assess the effect of body heat on the room’s temperature
c) Check the thermostat on the furnace
If you answered “a”, you would make a fine environmentalist wacko!
If you answered “b”, you would be one of those who the environmentalist hates.
If you answered “c”, you would be too smart for all of this and need to move on to another topic!
The environmentalists think that the warming can only be by CO2 gas. Surely, the sun’s heat could have nothing to do with it, they say! They are obsessed with this radical increase of CO2 gas: it has only increased by 0.009% since they began measuring it!
It turns out, interestingly, that solar irradiance may be close to its highest point in centuries. Al Gore says that current global temperatures are the highest they have been in 1000 years. A new study by the Institute of Astronomy in Zurich says that the “sun is more active now than it has been at anytime in the previous 1,000 years.” Related?
Sunspots have been monitored on the Sun since 1610, shortly after the invention of the telescope. They provide the longest-running direct measurement of our star’s activity.
Thus, Sunspot activity is the most likely cause of so-called global warming.
God created CO2 gas!
But it is not the production of carbon dioxide that God finds offensive. It is the commission of sin. God created CO2 gas as a key part of the Earth’s atmosphere. CO2 gas emitted by all humans: it is the major gas that is exhaled (exhaust) by all 7 billion humans on the earth. They ‘pollute’ the atmosphere 6.5 billion times every second!!! It is God’s design to have CO2 gas in the atmosphere and to have more produced! I don’t think God is at all concerned over the production of CO2 gas.
The truth is that God created the Earth to be self-sustaining until it has served its purpose. It is self-healing, resilient, and restorative. It actually rejuvenates itself. The greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon set into place by God. God designed gases in the atmosphere, like carbon dioxide and water vapor, to remain in balance and warm the Earth, creating a stable climate for the support of plant, animal, and human life. According to Accu-Weather, the world’s leading commercial forecaster, “Global air temperatures as measured by land-based weather stations show an increase of about 0.45 degrees Celsius over the past century. This may be no more than normal climatic variation…[and] several biases in the data may be responsible for some of this increase.”
Satellite data indicate a slight cooling in the climate in the last 18 years. These satellites use advanced technology and are not subject to the “heat island” effect around major cities that alters ground-based thermometers.
A Gallup survey indicated that only 17% of the members [(Scientists)] of the American Meteorological Society and the American Geophysical Society thought the warming of the 20th century was the result of an increase in greenhouse gas emissions [(i.e. CO2)]. (ukapologetics.net)
1940-1975 was a cooling period with temperatures dropping all over the world, in fact, 1970s environmentalists were predicting a new ice age!! Yet if CO2 gases were really causing global warming, 1940-1975 should have been the period when the world should have been getting hotter, [for this was the big industrial boom of which ‘global warming’ was born from!] But all of these trends perfectly fit with the measurement of sun spot activity. The Earth is not “fragile” when it comes to human interference. Humans cannot destroy the Earth (let alone the Universe). Humans cannot eliminate the ozone layer. Humans cannot cause permanent, life-threatening global warming. Human ability to pollute, contaminate, and destroy the environment cannot begin to compare with the destructive forces of nature itself: volcanoes, tornados, hurricanes, drought, typhoons, earthquakes, and floods. The 1991 volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines introduced 20 to 30 megatons of sulfur dioxide and aerosols into the Earth’s atmosphere, with those materials completely encircling the Earth in some three months (Sagan, 1997, p. 107). Satellite data collected indicated that, as a result, “the ozone levels had depleted by about 15 percent” (Rickman, 1997). In fact, as a direct result of the large amounts of stratospheric sulfate particles from the Mount Pinatubo eruption, “record low global ozone levels were recorded in 1992 and 1993” (“Environmental Indicators…,” n.d., emp. added). NASA concluded: “Stratospheric aerosols such as those produced by major volcanic eruptions are thought to be important catalysts in the chemical processes leading to the observed ozone losses” (“NASA’s Ozone Studies,” 2006). [Volcanoes are much more damaging to our environment than man-caused CO2 emmissions.] Humans cannot begin to compete with nature’s impact on itself. We humans have an inflated sense of our own importance if we think that we determine whether the world goes on after we are gone.

Global Cooling?!
Is there really a Global Warming catastrophe in the mix as Al Gore preaches?!
China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile — the list goes on and on.
All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA’s GISS, UAH, RSS) show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.
A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough to wipe out most of the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year’s time. For all four sources, it’s the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.
The PDO (Pacific Decadal – every 30 years – oscillation) cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling, perhaps much deeper than the global cooling from about 1945 to 1977. Just how much cooler the global climate will be during this cool cycle is uncertain. Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely.

God has placed earth in our hands. We need to be concerned about how we treat it. There are two extremes: Environmentalist wacko’s, and so-called Christian wacko’s (who aren’t the least bit worried about pollution, endangered species, cutting down trees, building factories, etc).
A tool of the Devil?!
My main concern with the Global Warming hysteria is that it might very well be used by Satan to get all the nations of the earth united behind a common cause that they all can agree on. There will be (and already is) International Environmental Police who control nations, cities, towns, and ultimately, people! There will be one person who is at the top of this environmental global force…he will have, theoretically, control over the whole world…to some extent. This may very well be the main, or at least one, avenue that the AntiChrist uses to seize popularity and control of the nations.
Rv 13:16-17 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell , save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
It is so presumptuous and haughty of believers and non-believers alike to think man is in control of the destiny of the planet God created for us. If it were so, would he not have warned us?
2 Peter 3 speaks of ‘Global Warming’ in Biblical proportions! God is going to cause the ‘elements’ of the Universe to ‘melt with fervent heat’…. ‘what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…’
