This will be a study in multiple parts.
This Blog Post Covers I Cor 12: 11-14
I Cor 12:11
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Let’s start off by reminding ourselves who this written too. It was written to the church at Corinth. It was written to us today. This verse refers back to vs 8-10 where Paul let’s us know what the gifts of the Spirit are. This verse begins to tell us who the gifts are for and why. Notice who decides who gets what gift, It is the Holy Spirit and he wills, not as we will. And how do these work? By the same spirit.
In John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Notice a few things God the Father sent him to us all things and to help us remember the things Jesus said. He did not send the holy spirit so that you would be rich or have good life. He was sent to show us and teach us about Jesus.
I Cor 12:12
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Paul says here we are one body, we all have different talents, ideas, but we are of one body in Christ. No one is island, If you are born again, then you are part of this body. no matter sex, age, color of skin, hair color etc. What a wonderful God we have. So many of us have been picked on made fun of, but in Him we are one body.
I Cor 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
This verse sums up what I just wrote, We are One body bought with a high price. We should act like one body and help the hurting instead of looking down on our brothers and sisters. We need to really love one another.
I feel lead to stop here because the next verses go further into this and that will be a whole blog itself.
