Christ is the first one to experience resurrection in an immortal body (1 Cor. 15:20)\u2014the rest of the human race will experience this later, at His second coming (1 Cor. 15:50\u201356). Second, Christ abolished death officially when He personally defeated it by His resurrection. However, physical death will not be completely destroyed actually until He returns again and \u201cdeath is swallowed up in victory\u201d (1 Cor. 15:54).
