Have You come here to torment us before the time?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote scripture is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><cite class=\"bibleref\">Matthew 14:33<\/cite><br>Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, \u201cTruly You are the Son of God.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote scripture is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Matthew 26:62\u201364<br>And the high priest arose and said to Him, \u201cDo You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?\u201d But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, \u201cI put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!\u201d Jesus said to him, \u201cIt is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote scripture is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Mark 1:1<br>The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout Scripture, others are also called \u201cson(s) of God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adam (<cite class=\"bibleref\">Luke 3:38<\/cite>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Angels (<cite class=\"bibleref\">Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7<\/cite>)1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Believers (<cite class=\"bibleref\">Matthew 5:9; Romans 8:14, 19; Galatians 3:26<\/cite>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA son of God\u201d or \u201csons of God\u201d are monikers for those who follow after God. But the phrase \u201cthe Son of God\u201d is used only for Jesus Christ. He is called the \u201conly begotten Son\u201d (<cite class=\"bibleref\">John 1:14, 3:16, 3:18; 1 John 4:9<\/cite>) and \u201cHis [God\u2019s] own Son\u201d (<cite class=\"bibleref\">Romans 8:3<\/cite>). Jesus is referred to as \u201cthe Son\u201d when God is referred to as \u201cthe Father\u201d (<cite class=\"bibleref\">John 3:35\u2013\u00ac36; 5:19\u201327; 6:40; 17:1; 2 John 1:9; Matthew 28:19<\/cite>). In fact, Jesus is the Son, the second person of the Godhead, which cannot be said of any human or angel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When understood from the whole context of Scripture, there is really no contradiction. Jesus is called \u201cthe only begotten\u201d as the unique Son of God in a very real sense that no angelic being or member of humanity can share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>[1] There is little dispute on the &#8220;sons of God&#8221; referring to angels in Job 38:7; however, some commentators believe the &#8220;sons of God&#8221; are godly men in Job 1:6, 2:1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If Jesus is God\u2019s \u201conly begotten Son,\u201d then how can angels and Christians also be God\u2019s sons?
